Born on the beautiful Hāmākua Coast, Kahea has always had a passion for art. Her love of the Big Island and the ocean surrounding it is at the heart of her work.
After attending school in the ranching town of Waimea, she traveled through Europe, studying classical oil painting in Italy and commerce in London. She returned home with a desire to share the beauty of these islands with her local community and beyond.
At 20 years old, her work adorns walls throughout Hawaiʻi and around the world.
